This warm, friendly, and centrally located facility makes our community unique. The Center is more than a building, says president DENISE KURITZ "its the heart of the community".
We remain all volunteer run and operated for close to 15 years. About 8 years ago when we had trouble engaging parent volunteers, we reached out to student volunteers and started helping with their community service and this program grew and to date we have about 250 student volunteers at the Center. We are open for approximately 23 Fridays a year. We run 3 big events a season for the children. WE HAVE 2 BIG FUNDRAISERS THE 5K WALK/RUN and our Winter Fundraiser. All funds go directly to operating the Center for the children. WE are self supporting but are thankful for the use of the Center facility from the Lower Moreland Township who owns the building. We maintain our space but without their support and the lease for $1.00 for 5 years we would not be able to do what we do for the children. However, expenses are high for running the place and paying the costs and maintenance. PLEASE SUPPORT US FOR OUR YEARLY FUNDRAISERS. REMEMBER, "IT'S ALL ABOUT THE KIDS AND FOR THE KIDS".
We are a non-profit recreational center for children who live in Lower Moreland and Bryn Athyn Boro. We provide a service for the 4th, 5th & 6th grade students to come after school on Fridays. We are located in the lower level of the HV Library Parking
To provide a safe haven for the children in our community and keep the kids off of the street. The beating and killing of Eddie Polec in neighboring Fox Chase was the driving force that a Youth Center was needed in our community.
